    This past Friday night (Jan 6th), me, 4-ize and the Bodega Brovas trooped out to Birmingham, Alabama for a live performance at the Bottle Tree Cafe. Shouts to the good folks at Lobotomix for holding us down and making sure things were straight. The Bottle Tree is a real nice venue that serves as restaurant int the day / venue at night.     I liked this song from Issue #1 as well. It’s good to get a more rounded out image of Pedalay. I also liked the video, which works because of its simplicity. It should prove that you don’t need much of a budget to shoot a good video. You just need someone with a little bit of skill behind the lens. Apologies to Pedalay and Scatterbrain.     To be perfectly honest, NY hasn’t really had a great run the past couple of years.  The birthplace of rap has had a tough time outside of the big names like Jay.  Recently though, New York has been getting some shine.  New rappers like Mr. Mothafucking Exquire are bringing back a true, gritty New York sound. Troy Ave continues along this path.  You hear this song and you know it is New York – that is what New York was really missing. This track is just grimey – like hoodies and timb boots in the club grimey.  Welcome back New York.
